About Me

I am a wife, a Mom, a residential real estate appraisal reviewer, and someone who likes to eat, and eat well.  My husband and I moved from the Bay Area to Salem back in 1993.  We were drawn to the beauty of the valley and the idea of living in a smaller town surrounded by farm land.  Little did we know then what a wonderful area we had chosen to make our life together.  Years later I have re-discovered my love of cooking and baking, and having boys who are now almost 4 and 8 has also helped me find more time to be in the kitchen again.

Last year I jumped in to the wonderful world of Community Sponsored Agriculture thanks to Minto Island Growers.  Picking up a box of produce each week caused me to stretch my culinary experiences to include things that I hadn't tried before.  While my boys aren't as excited about it as I had expected, I am going to keep introducing them to new tastes and textures with the hope that they will eventually come around.  I am starting this blog as I look forward to CSA year 2, and with intent to find and enjoy more of the bounty that the beautiful Willamette Valley has to offer.  While I am starting with food, I expect I will also be exploring and sharing about life too.  Cheers to good, local, and healthy living!  ~Cindy
